A trade group reports sales of existing homes dipped 2.9 percent
in July. But the National Association of Realtors says it was still
the third-highest level on record.
The group says existing home sales were at a seasonally adjusted
annual rate of 6.7 million units last month, down from June's record
pace.
The July sales pace is 8.5 percent above the level the same time
a year ago.
Realtors' chief economist David Lereah says sales on are track
for a new annual record this year.
